Weight categories can be modified two ways. The weight category can be updated for an individual student from their chart, or it can be modified for entire section.

Modifying Weight Categories

Individual Student

Modifying the weight category for an individual student will only update the weights for the selected student. All other students in that class will have the previously selected weights.

To modify the weight category for a student you must have at least one of the following permissions:

  1. Navigate to "Academics" tab in the bottom left menu.

  1. In the "View" drop-down, select "Grade Book."

  1. Select the "Year", and "Section" that you need to update the weight categories for.

  1. Select the name of the student.

  1. Adjust the category weights for each term.

  1. When done, select "Save Changes."

Entire Section

Modifying the weight category for an entire section can update the weight categories for all future students enrolled in the class, or for all of the students that are currently enrolled in the class.

To modify the weight category for an entire section, you must have the "Teacher" and the "Edit Sections" permissions.

  1. Navigate to the "Academics" tab in the bottom left menu.

  1. In the "View" drop-down, select "Grade Book."

  1. Select the "Year", and the "Section" that you need to update the weight categories for.

  1. Select the "Edit Section" icon located in the upper left corner, next to the word "Grade Book."

  1. Adjust the category weights for each term.

  1. To apply these update for all students currently enrolled, select the "Apply Defaults to all" checkbox. If you would only like the updates to apply to future students, do not select the "Apply Defaults to all."

  1. Select "Update Section."
