How to generate a template style note from a client chart:
1. Navigate to a client's chart.
2. Click on the "New Note" button at the top of the client activity log.
3. Click on the note dropdown.
4. Select the note to be completed.
How to fill out a template style note:
Template style notes do NOT save as you go. Make sure to click the save button when beginning the note and periodically as the note is being filled out.
Template style notes can be filled out by typing in the note as any standard text document. In addition to this, BestNotes templates have built in click button options called "AutoNotes™".
There may be red "reference only" boxes in the note containing instructions on how to fill out the note. For example, in the screenshot below the reference only box states "Begin AutoNote™ Section (located in the right side bar)".
In the right side bar, in the "AutoNote™" tab, click on the first AutoNote™ gray button. In this example it is the "Session Details". This will open the first AutoNote™ dialogue box.
The top white portion of the AutoNote™ is intended as a visual reference, do not type in this area. The prompts will be answered in the gray section under "Variables". Some prompts will be text fields and some will be gray click button options. More than one button can be selected.
Once the necessary text fields are filled in and the buttons selected, click "Append & Close".
The information you selected will then automatically populate the corresponding section of the note as seen in the example below.
Some AutoNotes™ will not open in a dialogue box. For example, the "Master Diagnosis" AutoNote™ will populate the master diagnosis from the Master Treatment Plan into the note directly without opening a new window.
How to finalize a template style note:
Once the note is complete it will need to be saved, signed, and locked. First, go to the top of note to add necessary signers to the signers list.
When the list of signers is correct, click the "Save, Sign & Lock" button at the top right. This will open a dialogue box to confirm the note will be locked. Click "OK" to lock and sign.
