This article provides troubleshooting information and important notes regarding DrFirst ePrescribing integration within BestNotes.

DrFirst access is managed by the BestNotes Administrator.

Important Notes on DrFirst Integration

  • The Additional Directions to Patient and Office Use Only fields in DrFirst populates the Med Notes field in BestNotes. Whereas the Additional Notes to Pharmacist field populates to Refill Notes field in BestNotes.
  • Once a DrFirst user selects the ePrescribe button on any client's page, that client's meds and allergies must be managed in DrFirst from then on.
  • Prior to exiting DrFirst, remember to select Save and Close located in the drop-down next to the user's name at the upper-right hand corner. This will sync any changes made to the Meds area in Med/Clinical.

Medication Display in Documents

Comprehensive documents, reports, and templates using Special Fields can pull in and show medications that are entered in the Meds tab OR DrFirst and as long as Include Med in Tx Plan is checked.

  • Meds created in DrFirst will automatically check this box.
  • Un/check in the Meds tab as needed.
