This article explains how to configure and use DrFirst thermal printer support for printing prescriptions on continuous roll paper, including supported states and printer settings.

Configuring and Printing with DrFirst Thermal Printer Support

The option to output printed prescriptions in a format that is compatible with a thermal printer with special paper that is supplied on a continuous roll is available. This has been tested with one printer model, the Star Micronics TSP800.

This feature supports printing on "Rx560" paper rolls for the following states:

Five states are not supported: NJ, CA, NY, KY, and IN.

  1. Request enablement of this feature. Once enabled by BestNotes, your administrator user will also need to enable this option within the practice location settings.
  2. Configure your thermal printer with the following options:

  1. To print a prescription, select the print option from within the PDF iFrame or from the downloaded PDF:

  1. Select the "104mm X Receipt" paper size, and then select "Print."
