Understanding Videra Sidekick Note Preferences

This section details updates and instructions for the Note Preference Panel, released on July 9, 2025. It covers the behavior of note preferences in Sidekick Notes to ensure a smooth user experience with this new feature.

  1. Default Settings Inheritance
    • Each account has a default set of note preferences that can be customized at the account level. These can be found in: Left Hand Nav > Admin > Account settings, then scroll to the bottom of the page.
    • When a new user is created, they inherit these account-level settings.
    • Users can update their own note preferences at any time.
    • User preferences are found in: Bottom of left nav > Profile > Settings > Sidekick settings.
  2. User Preference Overrides
    • Once a user customizes their note preferences, they are no longer affected by any future changes made at the account level.
    • User-level preferences always take precedence and persist across sessions until manually updated.
  3. Session Note Generation
    • Notes are always generated using the current version of the user’s note preferences at the time of generation or regeneration.
    • Preferences are not applied retroactively to previously generated notes.
    • To change the note output format during a session, users must:
      1. Exit the live-session.
      2. Update their note preferences in their user settings.
      3. Return to the live-session and trigger a regeneration of the note.
