Academic years and departments are customized by BestNotes. Your onsite System Administrator will need to send a ticket to BestNotes have your desired years and departments added into BestNotes. Once that has been done, you can set your terms and choose your active year.

Permissions required

The "Administrator" permission is required to access Academic Years. In addition, a System Administrator is required to have the Academic Years added.

Manage Academic Years

  1. Select "Academics" in the bottom left menu.
  2. In the "View" drop-down, select "Admin."
  3. Select the "Academic Years" tab.

Set the Terms for the Year

The Terms will need to be set before creating classes and enrolling students.
  1. In the "Year" drop-down, select the desired year.
  2. In the "Terms" drop-down, select the number of terms to be included in the year.
  3. For each "Term" define the "Begin" and "End" dates.
  4. Select "Save."

Choose the active year

  1. Select the year that you would like to be active from the "Year" drop-down.
  2. Select the box labeled "Active Year."
  3. Select "Save."
