NOTEMobile Devices (cell phones and tablets) accessing PHI (Personal Health Information) must have two layers of security to remain compliant with HIPAA regulations.



  • The mobile device itself must be protected / locked by a password or PIN (Click HERE).
  • The software accessing PHI (BestNotes) must also be protected / locked by a password or PIN (Below).



BestNotes has opted to utilize a PIN number And a password to access your PHI on mobile software. 




To obtain remote mobile access for your mobile device (i.e. iPhone, Android), you need to contact your company's System Administrator and ask them to give you permission.


  1. Go to the User's Details
  2. Permissions
  3. Settings
  4. Check Remote / Mobile Access





Login with:
  1. Site ID
  2. BestNotes Username
  3. BestNotes Password

NOTE: When entering text, please be aware that BestNotes Mobile sometimes adds an extra space before a special character.



4. Enter a 4 digit Pin for quick entry

  • Can Unlock the BestNotes App when you return to the App (NOTE: unless you have recently changed your password)
  • See below if you forget PIN or have recently changed your password

NOTE: If the BestNotes App PIN is forgotten or your password recently changed, press Logout (under the 7 button).


This will require you to re-enter: 

  1. Site ID
  2. BestNotes Username
  3. BestNotes Password
  4. New 4 digit PIN to unlock the App every time you return (NOTE: only stored on that device)
