 NOTE: Mobile Devices (cell phones and tablets) accessing PHI (Personal Health Information) must have two layers of security to remain compliant with HIPAA regulations.

  • The mobile device itself must be protected / locked by a password or PIN (Below).
  • The software accessing PHI (BestNotes) must also be protected / locked by a password or PIN  (Click HERE).


BestNotes has opted to utilize a PIN number And a password to access your PHI on mobile software. 


Here is how to set up your Mobile device to have a security PIN or password protection:


Apple iOS (iPad + Mini, iPhone, iPod Touch) PIN Only:

Settings -> Passcode




Android (PIN, Password):

Settings -> Lock Screen


OR


Settings -> Security -> Screen Lock
